Ritual. Devotion. Veneration.

This body of work begins through communion with the land we live on. With the elements and beings surrounding us and with all that came before us. Anchored in nature, we connect to spirit, guided as we traverse the higher realms, our inner world and back again. I utilize the purest forms of art - earth, water, tree bark, flowers that have long bloomed full, leaves that have fallen, the female body - to create regenerative art honoring the cycles of life, connection to spirit and the beauty of the human experience. I sustainably forage organic elements in nature to create pigments used in my work, to preserve their memory, continue life in a new form, and activate symbolic and healing properties. I give an offering to the land in return. I believe and connect to the sentience of all living things. I always ask the land for permission. What the trees have seen and what the plants would like me to know. If the rocks wish to be moved. If the flowers want to share their color. I connect to the sensation of my body and ask how it wants to move. I ask my heart what is true. I open up the channel and ask Spirit how it wants to move through me, what needs to be shared, revealed, made visible or received. As above, so below.
